15 Years in Prison for Wisconsin Man Who Punched 2-Month-Old Son to Death

(The AEGIS Alliance) – MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN A man who punched his 2-month-old son to death and was convicted of the crime has been sentenced to prison on Thursday, FOX6NOW.com reports.

22-year-old Kenta Evans gave a guilty plea back in January to second-degree reckless homicide and a charge of child abuse.

Evans was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Thursday, along with 10 years of extended supervision as a result of the homicide conviction. Evans was also handed down three years in prison and three years of extended supervision for the child abuse conviction. The prison sentences are to be served concurrently according to a court order, which equaled a total of 15 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision.

two-month-old son of Evans named Jaquerrion Dancer died while at a hospital after Evans repeatedly punched the boy on June 5, 2019, at a home around 28th Street and Chambers street.

Jessica McNeal who is Dancer’s mother told investigators that the boy’s father, Evans, visited the baby on June 5, 2019. According to the complaint, once Evans was inside McNeal’s home, instead of wanting to see the baby boy Dancer, he began accusing McNeal of “having other men in the house.”

The complaint reveals that during the confrontation, McNeal picked up the baby and stepped back from Evans. McNeal sat don on a mattress and then Evans started punching McNeal with closed fists repeatedly. McNeal continued to hold onto baby Dancer while this happened.

McNeal’s sister took the baby away from the house and rushed him to a local hospital.

The criminal complaint shows that baby Dancer was admitted to Children’s Wisconsin hospital for respiratory failure. The baby was diagnosed by doctors who found the two-month-old had skull fractures, hemorrhaging, and other injuries to the brain. The doctors also said the baby’s scalp was swelling. The child succumbed to his injuries just before 9 p.m. that same day.

Kenta Evans will now spend the next 15 years of his life in prison for the death of baby Jaquerrion Dancer.

  1. Thanks! The theme is called Newspaper, it’s on CodeCanyon. $59 and comes with lifetime updates and 6 months of theme developer support, option to extend support to 12 months, but after that, it costs money for support. If support expires it costs more to extend support. The only downside I’m seeing is that shortcodes that wrap around text turn into theme template scripts instead of doing the wrapping shortcode. There might be a solution for that but I’m not sure.
